Ross Sanders, First Vice President, joined the CBRE National Senior Housing Group
in May 2016. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Sanders will collaborate with Lisa Widmier
, Matthew Whitlock
and Aron Will
to expand the firm's platform in the Americas. In addition to senior housing investment sales, Mr. Sanders will also lead the firm's efforts to grow its skilled nursing investment practice nationally.
Prior to joining CBRE, Ross spent nearly four years at American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust, a public non-traded real estate trust headquartered in New York, New York, where he led the seniors housing acquisitions team as Vice President. From the inception of the company's first fund and two subsequent funds, Ross worked to source, value, negotiate and close on over 150 senior housing and skilled nursing communities across 28 states. The three portfolios utilized over 20 different senior and skilled nursing operator and tenant relationships under both the RIDEA and NNN lease structures. The total enterprise value of those properties was nearly $2.5 billion. In early 2014, the non-traded REITs initial fund was listed on the NASDAQ exchange under the ticker symbol HCT. Ross was later involved in the sale of the listed company (HCT) to a large public healthcare REIT.
Before his tenure with ARC, Ross worked as a senior housing broker for Senior Living Investment Brokerage in the St. Louis, Missouri offices. Spending nearly five years at the firm, Ross valued, sold and consulted with owners of skilled nursing and senior housing assets across the country. Earlier in his career, he led the property management and leasing group for a portfolio of multifamily properties located throughout Maplewood, Missouri. He spent a short stent with Central Realty, LLC, specializing in the leasing, management and sales of retail centers across the Midwest.
