Sara Spicklemire is a Senior Vice President with CBRE in the downtown Chicago office. Named one of Real Estate Forum’s 50 Women of Influence nationally in 2015, Sara specializes in assisting multi-tenant office building owners and tenants in maximizing their real estate value through innovative leasing strategies. With a reputation of being extremely client-focused, Sara’s leadership, industry knowledge, and experience in Chicago’s real estate community make her one of the market’s top performers.
As an owner representative, Sara’ s resume is diverse. Her experience spans every asset class: ground-up, new developments such as Bank of America’s 1.5M square foot, 55 story tower at 110 North Wacker Drive, 1375 W Fulton and 412 N Wells; transformations of vintage buildings such as Chicago Landmark, One North State Street; repositioning of marquee properties like 10 and 120 South Riverside Plaza, 181 W. Madison Street or the iconic 150 N. Michigan Ave; and completely unique redevelopments such as 300 E. Randolph Street following its’ bold 23-story, 900,000-square-foot vertical expansion while fully occupied. Additionally, she has worked with such notable companies as Miller Coors on successful sublease dispositions and firms like Health Care Services Corporation on comprehensive, strategic real estate plans for national portfolios.
Immediately prior to joining CBRE, Sara was with MB Real Estate as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Leasing Services. In 2014, she became the youngest professional and first female in the firm to hold such title; Sara also served as the youngest member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
For the past eleven years, she has served on the steering committee for the Greater Chicago Food Depository Commercial Real Estate Awards including serving as Chairwoman of the 2019 record breaking awards dinner which raised $1.5M dollars for Chicago neighbors battling hunger. She has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than a decade as well as serving on the organization’s executive board.
