Steve Barton is a Senior Vice President with CBRE Atlanta’s Tenant Representation Group, assisting clients by aligning their real estate portfolio with their business initiatives.
In his 26 years of commercial real estate experience, Mr. Barton has been recognized in the Top 200 CBRE brokers in the Americas, noted for his creativity in deal structures. Positioned as a leader in the industry, Mr. Barton closed more than 1 million square feet in one year.
Barton applies his real estate market knowledge to meet tenants’ specific needs by aligning landlords and facilities that are relevant to the tenant’s vision. Mr. Barton has successfully helped with reducing overhead, increasing visibility, retaining and recruiting employees, increasing employee morale and delivering expansion or contraction options. His relationships in the real estate industry allow Mr. Barton to foresee and mitigate risks.
Mr. Barton’s integrity and proven results have turned his clients, whether it’s corporate headquarters or smaller satellite offices, into repeat business.
A proud believer and supporter of community service, Mr. Barton represents and continues to participate in pro bono work with numerous nonprofit organizations throughout Atlanta. Mr. Barton is proud to have founded the program which enables CBRE employees to deliver birthday cakes to children in shelters (100 cakes per year, and growing). He was honored by his peers in the commercial real estate industry as the Community Service Award winner on behalf of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Mr. Barton also serves as a board member of Mary Hall Freedom House, one of the largest programs in the nation to help homeless women and women with children with housing, job placement and life skills.
Not only setting trends around Atlanta with his bowties, Mr. Barton also set trends in the market with loft redevelopment in the mid-1980s spearheading the assemblage of what are now the World of Coca-Cola and Centennial Olympic Park, and continues to do so with projects such as the redefining of Paces West office building in Atlanta.
Mr. Barton is married with three girls and resides in Sandy Springs. He is co-captain of the BVC bicycling team and coaches girls’ soccer through NASA in Cobb County, Ga.
