David Benson

As the Alliance Director for Florida Power & Light, David is responsible for delivery of both Project and Facility Management services to FPL, budget compliance and service delivery for all Key Performance Indicators.

Prior to October, 2013, David served as Facilities Director on the Florida Power & Light account, responsible for managing a team of 30 employees that provide Facilities Management services for the Real Estate operations of FPL corporate facilities, service centers and substations which represent a portfolio consisting of over 3.8 million sq. ft. with an operating budget of $18.6M.

Prior to joining the FPL account in 2007, David was the General Manager of the Headquarters facility for a major financial institution in Seattle, WA. Beginning in 2005, he organized a team and managed through the initial start-up, commissioning and phased occupancy of a new high rise office building near the waterfront in the CBD.  This 42 story tower (940,000 s.f.) also provided expansion space for the Seattle Art Museum.  It was the largest office addition to the Seattle skyline in 15 years and is the 6th tallest building in Seattle. 

Prior to joining CBRE, David had a long and varied career with Trammell Crow Company.  David joined Trammell Crow in 1989 while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He relocated to Seattle, Washington in 2002 to assume the leadership role for a team managing and leasing a Seattle landmark property, 1001 Fourth Avenue Plaza.  David helped Trammell Crow Company grow their presence in downtown Seattle to represent several major investment clients and over 3 million square feet.  He also managed One Convention Place which was developed by Trammell Crow Company in coordination with the expansion of the Seattle Convention Center. 

During his time in Seattle David was very involved in leadership of the local chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association, serving on the Executive Committee for the Board of Trustees.  He was also a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
