Garrett J. Mickal, MAI, R/W-AC

Garrett J. Mickal is currently a Vice President in the Valuation and Advisory Services group at CBRE. He has over 10 years of experience performing real estate appraisal and consulting supporting loan underwriting, litigation, portfolio analysis, financial reporting, and eminent domain. Mr. Mickal has performed real estate valuations of fee simple, easement, leased fee and leasehold interests of existing and proposed developments across the United States including; land, single and multi-tenant retail centers, restaurants, hospitality, auto-dealerships, industrial facilities, single-family and multi-family residential buildings, subdivisions, and special purpose properties.

A majority of Mr. Mickal’s career has focused on litigation support for eminent domain proceedings, various tax purposes including estate planning, and easements for right of way & utility corridors. He has testified as an expert witness in Harris, Brazoria, and Galveston counties in Texas, as well as Lafayette and Jefferson Parishes in Louisiana.

Before joining CBRE, Mr. Mickal was a Senior Vice President of Valuation Advisory at Partners Real Estate where he focused on appraisals supporting loan underwriting and financial reporting for institutional investments. Prior to Partners, he was a Senior Vice President of Valuation Advisory at Jones Lang Lasalle where he worked extensively providing litigation and valuation support for appraisals of easements & right of ways for roadway and petroleum & natural gas lines.

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge
• Master’s in Business with a specialization in Real Estate from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
