Ira C. Wellen has been practicing real estate law for 30 years, representing a variety of large and small sized commercial enterprises. Ira began his legal career with law firms in New York City, where he practiced in a v¬ariety of areas including real estate, construction law and commercial litigation. During this time, Ira represented landlords, tenants, developers, contractors and a variety of commercial businesses.
In 2001, Ira moved to Colorado and took an in-house position at an internet data center company and then a large, multi-national office supply company with locations across the globe. At these in-house positions, Ira assisted in managing the companies’ real estate transactions and providing legal guidance on various deals and matters, before joining CBRE.
Ira brings his real estate transaction management experience to the many clients represented by CBRE. He assists his professional colleagues in developing occupancy strategies and processes that further the client’s corporate goals. With an extensive background in real estate, Ira is able to assist clients in negotiating transactions, reviewing and understanding leases, amendments and purchase agreements, and expediting the flow of documents to facilitate deals. While Ira does not provide legal representation, he brings his unique skill set to make the real estate process more efficient. Our clients see Ira as an integral part of CBRE’s strategic planning and portfolio management.
