A 20-year Real Estate Executive with a diverse retail real estate background and a concerted focus on Lifestyle, Hospitality and Food & Beverage real estate. Jessica Curtis is the Leader of CBRE’s Restaurant Practice specializing in Emerging Brands.
Ms. Curtis has a finger on the pulse of trends in retail, dining and hospitality and she spends much of her time traveling throughout the United States maintaining her knowledge base, building relationships and searching for the next great concept.
In addition to significant landlord consulting assignments throughout her career for organizations like Rockefeller Group, RXR, Blackstone, SL Green and the like, Ms. Curtis has been integral in the strategic expansion of a number of restaurant companies. She has lead the real estate initiative for Barteca Restaurants for over a decade, securing upwards of 55 locations for their two brands, Barcelona Wine Bar and Bartaco. Barteca was sold to DFRG, Inc. in 2018 for $325M and subsequently to L Catterton in 2019. Ms. Curtis continues to lead their real estate efforts. She has completed transactions for and with brands including: Shake Shack, Velvet Taco, Cava, Postino, Sixty Vines, Whiskey Cake, Del Frisco’s, Hawkers Asian Street Fare, Little Beet, Melt Shop, Fields Good Chicken, Five Guys, Mexicue, Ruth’s Chris, Caffe Nero and Starbucks, as well as a number of notable and award-winning chefs.
In 2018, Ms. Curtis created the first female-oriented scholarship offered through the International Council of Shopping Centers in honor of her first mentor, Sheldon M. Gordon, a visionary real estate developer who fostered her early career. She hopes that this multi-year offering will encourage more talented women to enter the industry.
Jessica enjoys entertaining, shopping the farmers market, the occasional ballet class, hotel hopping, piano lessons and summer days and nights in the Adirondacks and Catskills of Upstate NY with her husband and sons.
