John Bernatz

With over 20 years of professional experience in multiple industries, from product development and manufacturing to managing complex academic, research and medical facilities, John brings a truly unique perspective to our Industrial & Logistics Advisory and Transactions team. Working with both occupiers and owners of industrial and flex real estate, John’s deep understanding of building systems and products provides inventive solutions with strategic business advantages for his clients.

Prior to joining CBRE, John was in facilities and real estate management for Oregon’s largest academic research medical university and served as VP of Operations for a renowned senior living community. John used his diverse professional background to manage and provide leadership for large teams of managers to ensure the seamless ongoing operations of complex building systems, while focusing on delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to large corporate companies, John has spent time working with incubator/start-up companies in food manufacturing, an executive chef, and a medic in the US Army. John’s complex professional experience in large and small companies enables him to “see beyond the walls” and present unique, innovative results.

Just as John’s professional background is diverse, so is his education, holding degrees in nursing, fine arts, culinary arts, and strategic business development.

In his time spent outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his family exploring the Pacific Northwest and the world, cooking, hiking and camping.
