Josiah Gunter joined CBRE in 2006 and currently serves as an Associate Director the U.S. Healthcare & Life Sciences Capital Markets (HLSCM) in Atlanta, GA. CBRE Healthcare & Life Sciences Capital Markets specializes in providing healthcare real estate investors with acquisition, disposition and recapitalization strategies, assisting healthcare providers with strategic capital planning (including monetization and capital raising efforts) and advising health systems and physician groups in the developer selection process.
Mr. Gunter is responsible for marketing the team’s assignments, strategy and positioning of offerings, market research and analytical assignments for business development and coordinating the financial underwriting and due diligence processes.
Prior to joining HLSCM in 2022, Mr. Gunter was a Director in CBRE’s Financial Consulting Group (FCG) where he was involved in the underwriting of commercial properties marketed for sale throughout the United States using an expert knowledge of both ARGUS Enterprise (AE) and Microsoft Excel. Working closely with real estate brokers throughout the country and advising asset managers and property owners on critical property-level financial issues, he identified areas for value creation while utilizing excellent understanding of capital markets and industry underwriting standards and techniques to benefit clients. During his tenure with the group, he assisted in the financial structuring and underwriting of more than 100 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and multi-family housing product with an aggregate value in excess of $20 billion.
In addition to his experience in capital markets consulting and valuation, Mr. Gunter was responsible for assisting occupier brokers and ran lease versus own, lease buyout, sale-leaseback, occupancy cost and lease comparison analyses for numerous Fortune 500 clients including AT&T, BB&T, EY, GE, KC, IBM and Pepsi-Co.
