Kim Lord is Senior Managing Director and Market Leader of CBRE’s Hawaii operations. Based in Honolulu, Ms. Lord uses her commercial real estate acumen of over 30 years to drive the firm’s overall strategy across all lines of business across the Hawaii region, including Advisory & Transaction Services, Capital Markets, Property Management, Valuation & Advisory Services, and Project Management.
Ms. Lord has been keenly focused on driving revenue by adding new service lines in the market, optimizing existing ones, and recruiting top talent. When she joined CBRE’s Honolulu office in 2001, she swiftly expanded the company’s property management operations in the region with a particular emphasis on the retail sector. As of 2021, Ms. Lord has managed to grow CBRE’s Hawaii business twofold.
During her tenure, Ms. Lord recruited more than a dozen appraisal experts from the former Hallstrom Group to further strengthen the CBRE Valuation & Advisory Services practice in Hawaii. She continues to successfully attract top local professionals to bolster the local brokerage and investment sales practice as well as CBRE’s Project Management business line in the market.
In 2013 and 2014, Ms. Lord oversaw the execution of CBRE’s Workplace360 strategy at the firm’s Honolulu office, which included the implementation of a free address environment, paperless technologies and a variety of wellness features.
Ms. Lord is a strong believer in mentoring others, supporting diversity and passing on her expertise as an industry expert and woman leader. As such, she has been involved with the ARES Women’s Caucus, PBN’s BizWomen Mentorship Program, and is actively engaged with CBRE’s EMERGE Mentoring program. In 2022, Ms. Lord will also be a mentor for the KUKOLU Indigenous Women’s Incubator and a luncheon mentor for the NAIOP Developing Leaders Exec Connect Program.
Committed to sharing CBRE’s top talent and resources, Ms. Lord has hosted the Hawaii Hospitality Symposium and Capital Markets Symposium for several years. These events are held for CBRE clients and students from the UH Shidler School of Business to enrich their classroom education. Throughout the years, she has been a member or speaker for ICSC, NAIOP, CCIM and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii.
