A First Vice President (Honorary Title) in CBRE’s New York office, Matt Bergey has more than 15 years of real estate experience, working with both tenants and landlords. Clients come to Mr. Bergey for his exceptional insight not only into Manhattan's Downtown market but across hot, creative-class Midtown South submarkets such as Meatpacking, Chelsea, NoHo/SoHo and NoMad. Added to this, his communicative style and flair for helping tenants with unique needs realize their goals make his skills in demand across industry types.

An avid collector of contemporary art and furniture, Mr. Bergey is particularly in touch with the sensibilities of tenants in creative and arts-related industries—from galleries to clothing designers to production companies and beyond—and is appreciated by his clients for his knowledge of aesthetics and ability to “speak their language.” He is also well-versed with the needs of large institutional tenants, and has worked with clients such as Marsh McLennan, KAO Brands and Cantor Fitzgerald on space disposition assignments.

On the agency side, Mr. Bergey represents Carlyle Group’s 56,000-sq.-ft. 414 West 14th Street; Related/L&L’s 195,000-sq.-ft. 511-541 West 25th Street; Prime Properties’ 21,000-sq.-ft. 125 Fifth Avenue; and numerous other boutique properties throughout Midtown South, including the Winter Organization’s 61,325-sq.-ft. 3 East 28th Street, a light manufacturing building being converted to office uses by noted architect Morris Adjmi.

A longtime resident of Manhattan, Mr. Bergey is active in community organizations and nonprofits including God’s Love We Deliver, the Meatpacking Improvement Association and the Annenberg Foundation. He is regularly quoted by industry newspapers, and has been profiled by the Commercial Observer. He began his career in CBRE’s Research department and moved into brokerage in 1999.
