Prior to joining CBRE and its Private Capital Group in Newport Beach (CBRE’s first Private Capital Group team nationally) in 2001, Voorhees worked for an Orange County retail developer specializing in site acquisition and brokerage of “coastal commercial” properties in Southern California.

Voorhees’s development background and extensive retail experience are particularly helpful to his clients seeking “value added” or repositioning opportunities or when selling complex retail projects.

In 2007, Philip Voorhees and Todd Goodman (retired) merged their teams to form the National Retail Partners-West team, combining Voorhees’s private capital expertise and systematic, database-driven marketing approach with Goodman’s deep experience with institutional clients and anchored centers. Focusing on the representation of sellers as exclusive listing agents, Voorhees and the Retail IP-West team have sold 1,072 retail properties totaling approximately $15.6 billion in value.

Since the start of 2012, Retail IP-West has sold +655 retail properties totaling +$9.7 billion in value (2Q2025). During this time, the team has averaged nearly 97% of list price and 101% of “probable” pricing per the RFP. This team is extremely consistent and reliable.

Voorhees was also CBRE’s #1 retail investment broker nationally in 2015, closing 63 transactions in excess of $947 million in value with his NRP-West teammates. In 2018, Voorhees the title of Vice Chairman, CBRE’s highest producer title, and one of only two Vice Chairman’s in retail investments.

In 2022, Voorhees and the NRP-West team closed 62 transactions for a value of approximately $1.5 billion.

The National Retail Partners – West (NRP-West) team, a part of CBRE’s nine (9) team National Retail Partner Group, focuses exclusively on retail investment properties in the western states (including CA, OR, WA, NV, and AZ). Our ability to collaborate across CBRE's multi-discipline platform enhances our role as strategic advisors to our Western U.S. clients in the disposition and acquisition of retail properties, and ensures the delivery of superior results in today's investment market. The team also exports “California Capital” to projects around the Western U.S.

Long recognized as industry-leading investment experts, we continue to focus only on retail properties, and only in the Western United States. This team sells portfolios, anchored centers, strip centers, single tenant (STNL) assets, specialty retail projects, REO and Receivership assets and also pioneered the parcelized disposition strategy.

Based in Orange County, California, the team consists of professionals with institutional and private client relationships, and leverages institutional quality knowledge and service across unparalleled access to private capital investors and the brokers who represent them, domestically and around the globe.

For institutionally owned assets, the cooperation rate is approximately 35%.
