Mr. Stein is an Executive Vice President in CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance group in Austin, TX. Mr. Stein’s primary responsibilities include the origination, structuring, and closing of debt and equity real estate transactions throughout the US. During his mortgage banking career, he has arranged assorted financing structures including conventional debt financing, equity joint ventures, participating debt ventures, highly structured bridge, mezzanine and preferred equity facilities, and conventional construction loans. Mr. Stein has been with CBRE Debt & Structured Finance since 2003, where he has worked as a producer on an origination team that has closed nearly 1,300 transactions totaling $31.3 Billion in volume.
Mr. Stein is a licensed Texas Real Estate Salesperson and involved in the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), Commercial Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Mr. Stein graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Texas at Austin. After earning his undergraduate degree, Mr. Stein began his career in commercial real estate in Dallas as an Analyst and then Associate with the Archon Group, the real estate investment arm of Goldman Sachs and the Whitehall Funds. While at Archon, Mr. Stein worked in both the Multi-Family Asset Management Group as well as the Portfolio Management & Structured Finance Group.
