Barry Johnson appointed Americas Head of CBRE Investment Accounting and Reporting

CBRE announced today that Barry Johnson has joined the firm as Head of Investment Accounting and Reporting (IA&R) for the Americas.

Mr. Johnson, who has more than 20 years of experience leading Real Estate Fund Operations, joins the IA&R global management team as a Senior Managing Director.

Barry’s leadership and extensive fund operations experience in the real estate asset class will enable us to continue to grow successfully and enhance our services,” said Jean-Francois Gillard, Global Head of IA&R.

Mr. Johnson joins CBRE from State Street, where he was most recently Head of Real Assets Servicing. He was with State Street since 2012, when he joined to lead the real estate fund services lift-out from Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he was the Global Head of Fund Accounting for the real estate investing business at Morgan Stanley. He previously worked as a fund controller for Lend Lease Real Estate Investments prior to an acquisition by Morgan Stanley, focusing on core real estate funds. He has also worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young, primarily focusing on the financial services industry.
