CBRE announced today that Bill Grice has been appointed to the position of President for CBRE Hotels in the United States.

Mr. Grice will lead CBRE’s hotel business that combines investment sales, finance, valuation, advisory, and research into a single fully integrated service offering. CBRE Hotels was the intermediary for $165 billion in engagements and the number one firm for hospitality investment sales activity globally in 2021.

Mr. Grice, who is based in Atlanta, Georgia, has more than 20 years of hospitality and capital markets experience. He joined CBRE in 2020 and was most recently Co-Head of Hospitality Capital Markets. He was previously a member of the hotel investment banking team at JLL and prior to that worked in large loan originations at GE Capital Real Estate. He has been involved in over $40 billion of lodging-related recapitalization, financing, and equity placement during his career.

“Bill is a highly skilled real estate professional with a deep understanding of the hospitality sector. He will provide invaluable leadership as we continue to grow our hotels business in the U.S. and further differentiate the breadth of the strategic advice we provide to our clients. With Bill in this key role, we have the most accomplished executive team in the hospitality industry,” said Chris Ludeman, Global President of Capital Markets for CBRE.

Mr. Grice succeeds Kevin Mallory, who will retire at the end of the year after more than 18 years with the firm. Between now and year-end, Mr. Grice will work closely with Mr. Mallory transitioning leadership responsibilities. He joins a leadership team that includes Lawrence Britvan (President, Institutional Hotels, Debt) and Robert J. Webster (President of CBRE Hotels Institutional Group), and is closely linked to Steve Carroll and Kenneth Hatton, who lead CBRE Hotels in APAC and EMEA, respectively.

“When Kevin joined the firm in 2004, he was charged with the task of building our hotel business; he relished this challenge and today, CBRE is the leading intermediary in the hotel sector globally. Kevin’s legacy and imprint on our business will be long-lasting and we wish him all the best in the next chapter of his life,” sad Mr. Ludeman.
