Ms. Crimmins has several years of experience in the region’s commercial real estate industry. Prior to joining CBRE, she served as Executive Director at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where she was responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the local district council. Under her leadership, ULI expanded its programming and established new initiatives that aligned with its mission. Ms. Crimmins oversaw the effort to position ULI in Kansas City as an industry thought leader by partnering with experts from the organization’s peer cities to provide new perspectives and share best practices.
“Joy has spent the better part of a decade forming deep relationships with the region’s most prominent real estate professionals, providing them with the resources they need to contribute to the growth of Kansas City,” said CBRE’s Leah FitzGerald, Managing Director, Kansas City. “The support and knowledge Joy brings will be an invaluable resource for our brokerage teams, allowing them to maximize their ability to serve our clients.”
At ULI, Ms. Crimmins spearheaded the Kansas City district council’s effort to engage public and private sector organizations, working closely with the Downtown Council, Midtown KC Now, Greater KC Chamber, and most area municipalities to create relationships and expand awareness of the built environment. She also led the development, planning and delivery of more than 45 programs and events every year, including the Technical Assistance Panel & Advisory Services programs, the Real Estate Diversity Initiative, the UrbanPlan initiative, and the quarterly Inspire Series in partnership with the Greater KC Chamber. Before joining ULI, she spent 14 years in the insurance industry as a manager and agency consultant.
Ms. Crimmins earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and history from Northwest Missouri State University. She is an active member of the community, serving as a board member for the Kansas City Boat Club. She previously served a docent at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Fine Art.
