CBRE Brokered Two New Office Expansions in the Bay Area for Embark Behavioral Health’s Premier Mental Health Services

CBRE arranged two new expansions for Embark Behavioral Health in San Rafael and Walnut Creek. Josh Nelson, Kevin Calihan and Amy Trott from CBRE represented the tenant, Embark.

“San Rafael and Walnut Creek are strategically identified locations in the North Bay and East Bay, respectively, and aim to serve clients in and around both immediate geographies. Both clinics have education-based providers nearby, key amenities for their clientele, and are close to other leading medical providers, allowing Embark to build on the region’s best-in-class services and continue their positive impact on families in the Bay Area,” said Josh Nelson, first vice president at CBRE.

The two clinics are located at 4000 Civic Center Drive in San Rafael and 370 N. Wiget Lane in Walnut Creek; both are about 8,000 sq. ft. each. Embark will move into both locations in the first half of 2023. Haden Ongaro and Alyssa Doyle of Newmark represented the Landlord in San Rafael. Brian Clack and Eric Erickson of Colliers represented the Landlord in Walnut Creek.

For more than 25 years, Embark has operated a network of treatment and therapy programs across the United States, with a special focus on mental health for teens, young adults and their families. The new outpatient clinics in the North and East Bay add to Embark’s existing Bay Area footprint and creates access to a full continuum of services that Embark offers locally and nationally.

In 2020, suicide was the second leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 10-14 and the third leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 15-24. We believe those statistics have worsened since the pandemic, and we have a goal to reduce adolescent and young adult anxiety, depression, and suicide rates from all-time highs of today to all-time low by 2028. One way we do that is to create more quality and affordable access in communities like San Rafael, Walnut Creek, and their surrounding areas, where there are so many families in need,” said Perkin Chung, senior vice president of operations at Embark.
