CBRE has been engaged to assist with site selection for Sheetz Inc.’s expansion in Western Pennsylvania by RBG Development, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based commercial real estate acquisition development firm and exclusive developer for Sheetz, Inc., in the region.

Sheetz is one of America's fastest-growing, family-owned and operated convenience store chains. CBRE, in partnership with RBG Development (RBG), will source and negotiate the acquisition of approximately 1.5 to 3.0-plus-acre, high-traffic and high-visibility sites to help the chain expand its presence by as many as 30 locations in Western Pennsylvania within the next three-to-five years.

CBRE’s Jason Cannon, Hollis Hames and Amy Litzinger have been retained as the exclusive agents for the developer.

“We are thrilled to offer our expertise in site selection to such an iconic brand,” said CBRE’s Cannon. “Sheetz has proven to be the industry leader in convenience retail, and we’re happy to partner with RBG’s Dale Greco and Bruce Hill to help such a dynamic organization with their expansion throughout Western Pennsylvania.”

The expansion effort comes as convenience stores have benefited from shifts in consumer behavior because of increased consumer mobility. According to Sheetz, there is still plenty of room for growth in Western Pennsylvania as they will look to enter new communities throughout the region.

“My business partner Bruce Hill and I are grateful to have established a formal working relationship with Sheetz to further develop their strong Western Pennsylvania portfolio. I have so much respect for the way Sheetz’s real estate team conducts business and how they undertake the difficult process of developing an initial concept to the delivery of a finished product,” said Dale Greco, Principal of RBG.

“Even though Sheetz has a long history in Western Pennsylvania, there are many areas that could benefit from the 24/7 convenience that our company provides,” said Brian Dinges, Sheetz AVP of Real Estate. “We are excited to be working with two proven partners in RBG and CBRE as we work to bring the Sheetz experience to more people in the region.”

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Sheetz, Inc., employs more than 24,000 employees and operates more than 650 store locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina. All Sheetz convenience stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Sheetz provides an award-winning menu of M•T•O® sandwiches and salads, which are ordered through unique touch-screen order point terminals.
