CBRE announced that two new art-themed organizations have leased space along Boulder’s famed Pearl Street shopping and dining district. Colorado Glass Works leased retail suite D at 1500 Pearl St., and The New Local leased an office suite at 741 Pearl St.

CBRE’s Molly Bayer arranged both leases.

“People come to Boulder’s Pearl Street from all over the country knowing they will get a one-of-a-kind experience. Colorado Glass Works and The New Local are a perfect complement to the corridor, providing creative goods and services with a mission to benefit the community,” said Bayer.

Colorado Glass Works is the studio of local Colorado stained-glass artist Meggy Wilm. The studio sells stained glass art pieces ranging from mini-sun catchers to fully installable windows. Every piece is hand made. The business offers classes open to the public, as well as open studio space and glass for sale to other artists. Ten percent of all Colorado Glass Works’ profits are donated to charity. Bayer represented the landlord of 1500 Pearl St, the City of Boulder, in the transaction.

The New Local (TNL) is a local, non-profit, women’s art collective. Founded by Marie-Juliette Bird in 2019, the organization champions the exceptional, woman-identifying creators who live and work in our community. Nurturing a culture of creativity for the greater good, TNL offers workshops, classes, exhibitions, and events. TNL opened its doors Nov. 18. Bayer represented TNL in its lease. The landlord of 741 Pearl St. is Tebo Properties.

“The New Local has been looking for the perfect spot for two years. Our inaugural 2019 pop-up, on East Pearl, was a great success; we generated prosperity for local, women creators while spreading the gospel of creative joy into the community. The Covid lockdown provided an opportunity of time, wherein we established TNL as a nonprofit and began connecting with leaders in Boulder and beyond. Suzi Bahnsen from SBDC introduced us to Terri Takata-Smith at Downtown Boulder Partnership, who in turn introduced us to Molly Bayer. Molly was a joy to work with and found us our perfect place,” said Bird.

She added, “We feel privileged to take up stewardship of this historic, iconic home on West Pearl St. and hope to make the community proud. The New Local is grateful to everyone who helped us along our way, including the Tebo team, who made everything possible.”
