Some CBRE coworkers are teaming up to provide masks for healthcare workers and nursing home residents on several Hawaiian islands. Angie Hodge, her daughter Jessie Hodge and Marcia Murakami have been busy sewing face masks at home on Oahu. Katherine Cummins, a CBRE Property Manager located on the island of Kauai, obtained fabric from a local fabric shop and mailed it to Murakami.
So far, the team has distributed 40 masks to Kauai-based healthcare workers, an assisted living facility and to medical staff at a medical clinic, and 75 to nursing home residents on the island of Oahu.
The four women work in property management for CBRE. Following the State of Hawaii’s order for all non-essential businesses to close on March 23, the CBRE site team at Honolulu’s Pacific Park Plaza, including the Hodges and Murakami, has been working tirelessly to support essential businesses that continue to work at the building.
The attorneys, financial service tenants, real estate services and health care businesses still need the facilities support they are used to receiving in “normal” times. General Manager Angie Hodge and her team are making sure they get it. Now, the team is gearing up to prepare for “reentry” to the workplace, as their tenants decide when their reentry will occur. In addition, they’ve pledged to continue making masks as long as there’s a need.
