The report identifies 14 key drivers CBRE believes affect the performance of the retail property market in 17 major cities in China. These factors include investment liquidity, retail GFA per capita, historical vacancy, rental volatility, rental growth, future supply, retailer penetration, retail sales growth, consumption affordability and net yield.
- Based on CBRE’s MarketScore ranking system, the top three retail markets in China from an investment perspective are Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou. Investors are advised to exercise caution when evaluating retail investment opportunities in a number of other cities such as Shenyang and Wuxi.
