Capital Flow Monitor - The Surge of Asian Capital in the Global Real Estate Market H1 2014 (English)
The global real estate market continues to record strong outbound capital flows from Asian investors. Asian outbound investment reached US$16 billion in H1 2014, 40% higher than the amount in H1 2013.
Asian investors with overseas experience are increasingly willing to invest outside traditional gateway cities and using alternative ways to gain overseas exposure, such as investing in non-listed real estate funds.
H1 2014 saw more interest from Asian investors in cities along the west coast of the United States, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as in Continental Europe. Asian investors with overseas experience are increasingly willing to invest outside traditional gateway cities.
