  • Attractive opportunities in what is now a far less crowded space for investors, albeit one that remains suitable for only the most experienced operators, can be found in mass market or neighbourhood shopping malls, many of which continue to perform solidly.

 

  • However, investment strategy must undergo a fundamental shift away from the market and asset-focused approach of the past towards a new emphasis on the catchment, theme and positioning of individual properties.

 

  • Investors can achieve this by leveraging the latest technology to obtain data-driven insights into asset performance as well as focusing on assets with placemaking strengths or potential.
