The completion of Phase I of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (Jakarta MRT) in March 2019 is expected to begin to alleviate the city’s traffic gridlock and provide other benefits such as less time wasted in traffic and reduced fuel consumption.
The real estate sector, particularly those areas along the new MRT lines and in close proximity to stations, is also expected to be a major beneficiary, with land prices already having risen significantly since construction of the MRT line began.
