Gitary_FinalTwo Michigan women, Julie Gitary and Tracey Kudla, have stepped up to help their communities and found ways to support local health care workers. Gitary and Kudla, managers on CBRE’s GWS-Comerica account, have made or sourced the needed masks. Gitary has been busy sewing masks for medical staff at local hospitals when she is not working from home.

She has made more than 200 masks for the dialysis clinic in Berkley, Royal Oak and Troy Beaumont Hospitals, as well as for family and friends who are first responders or have compromised immune systems (like a 94-year-old neighbor who refuses help with grocery shopping). Each mask is made with two layers of cotton, a layer of non-woven interfacing and has a band that goes around the head for better comfort.

Kudla donated extra N-95 masks she had from a past home improvement project. She gave them to a local hospital instead of keeping them at home for her family's use.
