Explore OpportuntiesWhen Susan, a Senior Consulting Director, first joined CBRE, she was stepping into a challenging role with a significant project on her plate. Her client was undergoing a major consolidation and needed her expertise in optimizing their space. Susan brought her background in interior design and her keen ability to listen and understand clients’ needs to the table. But the support she found at CBRE went beyond her expectations.
At CBRE, Susan was given the freedom to shape her role and the support to build a team from the ground up. She developed processes and led a major four-year project that involved consolidating a company’s two million square foot headquarters into one million, a massive undertaking that required multidisciplinary collaboration between senior leadership, engineers and various other disciplines.
Susan found the project challenging and ultimately rewarding, it culminating in a personal walk through with her client’s CEO, in which he expressed his enthusiasm for the final result.
If you're driven to succeed, CBRE is a place where you are given that opportunity.
One of the most striking aspects of Susan’s experience at CBRE has been seeing our RISE values—Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence—in action. She says these values are actively practiced and honored within the company, reflected in the numerous times she has seen colleagues set aside their own needs in order to help a team member.
“I was really pleased that I had come on board to CBRE because I felt like these were my people. People that aren't afraid to speak up when something isn't right. People that stand behind what they do and deliver what they say they're going to deliver," she said.
Susan's journey also illustrates the entrepreneurial spirit that CBRE encourages. She notes, "One of the things that sets CBRE apart how entrepreneurial it is... I was given a lot of leeway to share my professional opinion." She was encouraged to be proactive early on at CBRE, a freedom that has been instrumental in her career.

She reflects on this dynamic, "I've been lucky because every one of my roles here at CBRE has simply been phenomenal and I've always gotten the support I've needed."
