Romy, a Transaction Manager responsible for managing real estate transaction activities for certain client portfolios, recently shared her journey and experiences at CBRE. After nearly nine years at CBRE, Romy has seen firsthand the opportunities for growth and development that the company offers employees.

Romy joined CBRE after a previous employer outsourced its real estate team. Despite being content with where she was, Romy found that CBRE offered a supportive culture and the space to chart her own course that far exceeded her expectations. "I was supposed to go with a competitor, but CBRE’s brokers and real estate partners consistently stood out more than others. I noticed the CBRE difference early in my career. It always stuck in my mind."

Even though she wasn’t familiar with what it was like to work at CBRE, Romy was impressed by the approach of the brokers she interacted with and the opportunities for growth within the organization. "There is a vast universe within the real estate world. CBRE nurtures continuous learning and provides employees with so many resources," Romy said.

She emphasized the importance of communication with leaders and openness to new opportunities, recalling a moment when she was offered a global position she felt she wasn't ready for. However, she accepted the challenge, and it became the position that accelerated her growth as a manager.

Romy also highlighted that CBRE's RISE values – Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence – are deeply ingrained in its culture. " I believe that if you don't have them, you won't succeed," she asserted.

When asked about how she’s realized her potential since joining CBRE, Romy shared, "I've been with CBRE nine years in September. From Director of Client Strategy to Global Director of Occupancy Planning, and now a Transaction Manager, my current journey with CBRE is pulling from my past experiences to become what it is now.”

She concluded: "If you're thinking about a job, don't. Because what I have is not a job. Since joining CBRE, I’ve had a career."
