Moonlight Basin is a modern mountain resort community that occupies 7,500 acres on the northeast side of Lone Mountain. There are no federal or state ground leases, which is relatively rare among western ski resorts. Two base villages were master planned for 1,650 residential units and 350 units had been sold at the time of sale, with 3,700 acres planned for future development.

Seven lifts serve 76 groomed trails on 1,900 skiable acres with a base elevation of 7,000 feet and a summit elevation of 11,166 feet. Moonlight Basin is marketed with Big Sky Resort as the “Biggest Skiing in America” with 5,384 skiable acres, 27 lifts and 220 trails. Several restaurants and retail outlets are available at the Madison Village base area and 36,000 SF Moonlight Lodge.

The private Moonlight Club features a spa, fitness facility and locker rooms at the Moonlight Lodge, plus The Reserve at Moonlight Basin, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. We represented Lehman Brothers in the sale of Moonlight Basin to CrossHarbor Capital.
