In Q2 2024, the Baltic retail market saw notable growth, with new DIY developments in Latvia and Lithuania. While Estonia had no major completions this quarter, significant expansions are expected in the second half of the year. Overall, the region boasts 3.8 million sqm of modern retail space, with 95,000 sqm under construction.

Retail confidence and trade turnovers mostly improved during the quarter, with increased investment activity in supermarkets and neighborhood shopping center schemes highlighting investor confidence in sustained consumer demand for essential goods both within and outside metropolitan areas. Additionally, renovation trends from last year have continued into 2024, while the concept of self-service stores, first introduced in Lithuania, is gaining traction in other Baltic countries.
