During the first half of 2023, the Philadelphia region’s retail big-box market continued to be characterized by low vacancy and lack of quality supply with little new construction on the horizon. However, the highly-anticipated bankruptcy of Bed Bath & Beyond ironically created a bright spot that brought roughly half a million square feet (sq. ft.) of space to the market in desirable locations, much of which has already been snatched up or soon will be.
