With 7.3 million square feet of sound stages, Los Angeles hosts the most film and television production space in North America, topping New York, Atlanta, and British Columbia.

Top Trends:

- Within Greater LA, 571 sound stages are operated by 102 individual film and television studios. 

- Even with the recent writer’s strike, the combined entertainment employment surpassed the pre‑pandemic level of 448,000, ending 2023 at 470,000 total employment. 

- Three of the largest film studios in the region, by number of sound stages and filmable square footage, are in the Tri-Cities submarket.
