Dear reader,
The Dutch office market is undergoing significant change. Organisations are seeking the right balance between hybrid working, use of space, and sustainability. At the same time, we see that housing strategies vary greatly depending on the sector and the size of the organisation. With this benchmark report, CBRE aims to provide insight into these differences and the underlying trends.
For this report, 174 organisations — including SMEs and large corporates — shared their vision and approach to housing. This has resulted in a broad and representative picture of how companies deal with housing and what course they envisage for the coming years.
Two developments underpin this report. Firstly, hybrid working has now been widely adopted, but the way it is shaped varies greatly from one organisation to another. Many companies are still looking for effective ways to encourage employees to return to the office on a structural basis and to attract and retain talent. An attractive working environment with good accessibility appears to be an important success factor. Secondly, although the media often speaks of a shrinking office market, we observe a more nuanced reality. Some organisations are downsizing, while others are expanding. A single, clear-cut conclusion cannot be drawn — and that is precisely what makes this report valuable.
By comparing your own ambitions and challenges with this benchmark, you can sharpen your strategic direction. Whether it concerns occupancy rates, ESG objectives, or hybrid work policies — this report offers insights that support strategic decision-making.
