September 2023 saw a sharp recovery in combined TEU traffic at the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) ports in Seattle and Tacoma to a level not seen since May of 2022. Total year-to-date TEU volumes at the NWSA were forecasted to finish the year 18% lower than 2022’s total volumes at the end of Q2 of 2023 - yet are only 13% off 2022’s total volumes at the end of Q3 of 2023.
