While the High-Rise Development Plan 2024 is further developing Frankfurt's skyline as a symbol of economic strength, the focus is also shifting towards upgrading the city centre.
The positive development of the Banking District contrasts with the challenges increasingly facing the city centre. The effects of the Coronavirus pandemic have exposed weaknesses in the retail and restaurant sectors, highlighting existing deficits. To ensure the city centre's future viability, it is essential to make it more attractive in a targeted manner.
This can be achieved through innovative usage concepts, improving quality of life by upgrading and greening the area, and integrating work, living and leisure more closely. Comprehensive transformation measures are therefore paving the way for a sustainable, resilient city centre, where planning, politics and business are collaborating to create new opportunities.
