Jon Smith is a Senior Transaction Manager with CBRE Global Workplace Solutions. Here, he provides strategic real estate portfolio management and guides transactions for Baker Hughes, a GE Company with their OFS/OFE holdings in North America.
Before CBRE, Jon worked in the southern Louisiana market with both NAI/Latter & Blum and RE/MAX Commercial where he focused on general commercial brokerage. His work included representing investors in disposition and acquisition of net-leased investment property across industrial, retail, and multifamily assets, and he represented owners of office and retail properties with leasing. Prior, he held the position as Executive Director of the French Market Corporation, a City of New Orleans owned public-sector property management company. Earlier, Jon worked as the Director of Commercial Property for HRI Properties, a redeveloper of large scale urban historical mixed-use property. The company utilized historic tax credits to develop urban properties in Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Virginia, with Jon driving the organization and market implementation of the commercial GLA of each redevelopment.
Jon is an active member of the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute where he serves on the National Designation Committee, and, more recently, the Greater Houston Partnership. In his community at home, Jon gives his time to the Houston Food Bank and the service organizations of St. Cecilia Parish and Strake Jesuit.
