Professional Experience
Akira began his career in 1998 at Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation). He subsequently held roles at Aozora Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he built a strong track record in domestic and international structured finance and real estate equity investments.
In 2011, Akira joined Diamond Realty Management. In 2014, he was appointed Head and General Manager of the Structured Finance Department. There, he launched a real estate mezzanine fund and, over an eight-year period, invested in real estate mezzanine debt in both Japan and the United States. Akira established more than 10 funds in total, managing capital from over 50 institutional investors including pension funds, banks, and university endowments.
Since February 2020, Akira has served as Head of Asset Management at CBRE K.K., where he has led the expansion of both the team and the asset management business. As of the end of October 2025, assets under management total approximately ¥550 billion. Targeting both the Japanese and North American markets, he oversees a wide range of real estate investments on behalf of investors.
Akira graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
