Professional Experience

As Global Head of Occupier Sustainability Advisory, Allan collaborates with businesses to develop and execute sustainability strategies that align with their global, regional, and national objectives and regulatory requirements.

Previously, Allan managed CBRE's UK Occupier Sustainability business, where in addition to his client work he oversaw the company’s internal national sustainability strategy. In this role, he worked towards achieving our Net Zero target.

Allan joined CBRE from NatWest Group, where he led the bank’s global operations climate strategy. As Head of Climate and Data Services, he drove NatWest’s achievement of Net Zero Carbon for its own operations in 2020 and Climate Positive status by 2022, accomplishing over a 70% reduction in carbon emissions. His work included renewable energy procurement, power purchase agreements, and the development of nature-based projects to generate carbon credits.

In addition, Allan managed systems, data, and applications within NatWest’s property services department—a skill set he brought to CBRE, collaborating with our AI development team to enhance sustainability services.

With more than 15 years of experience in Sustainability, Allan is a Fellow of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP, formerly IEMA). His expertise spans decarbonization, social value, wellbeing strategies, and climate risk within real estate and its supply chain. He previously chaired the Better Buildings Partnership 'Owner Occupier Forum' and contributed to updating the Green Lease Toolkit, knowledge he now applies in landlord engagement and negotiations.

Allan also serves as a Trustee of YMCA St Paul’s Group, which provides housing for young people facing homelessness. He chairs the Development and Assets Committee and is a Trustee member of the Performance Committee.
