Professional Experience

Amanda Hendry is Sector Vice President, Retail and Multi-Site, responsible for driving consistency in operational excellence and client care across Enterprise and On Demand accounts. Previously, Amanda held the role of Chief Operating Officer of CBRE Government & Defense Services, a leading provider of engineering services, base support operations and facilities maintenance for the U.S. Federal Government. Amanda joined CBRE in 2022 to build the infrastructure required to establish an at-scale federal practice. In this role, Amanda led CBRE’s $800 million acquisition of J&J Worldwide Services in February 2024 and oversaw the formation of CBRE Government & Defense Services, which employs more than 3,300 professionals worldwide and supports more than 250 hospitals, clinics and military installations, including Brooke Army Medical Center, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the United States Naval Academy.

Prior to joining CBRE, Amanda served as a leader within federal real estate for the US Government for almost 15 years, most recently at the National Capitol Region at GSA, where she served as Deputy Director of the largest GSA portfolio , including all federal facilities within Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland. Amanda directly managed strategy, operations and lease execution for over of 44 million square feet of leased space. Amanda spent the majority of her career in healthcare construction & facilities management at the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), serving as the Director of Lease Execution, overseeing the execution of all VA’s healthcare prospectus-level build-to-suit leasing work nationwide. Amanda led a team that increased speed to market and delivered a total portfolio of approximately 5 Million SF, and $6 Billion in total contract value within 2 years, resulting in new healthcare locations to be made available to over 2.5 Million Veteran patients. Amanda regularly represented the agency to the Office of Management & Budget and on Capitol Hill in support of VA’s efforts.

Amanda is an attorney and graduate from the University of Maryland School of Law, as well as the Harvard Business School GMP, which trains business leaders in how to drive cooperation between disciplines to support organizational change, as well as develop and execute competitive strategies. She lives in Virginia, and enjoys spending her time outside of work with her two sons, Alex and Charlie.
