Arpit Shah is a Senior Vice President for CBRE Hotels. Originally based in the firm’s Atlanta Office, Mr. Shah relocated to the Charlotte Office in September of 2012. With over 20 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, he is responsible for providing brokerage and advisory services to hoteliers primarily in the southeastern United States. He specializes in single assets and portfolios of premium extended-stay, upscale limited- and select-service hotels.
Having joined CBRE Hotels in December of 2004, Mr. Shah has been involved in over 150 closings comprising a transaction volume of nearly $2.0 billion. Born and raised in the Carolinas, Mr. Shah's expertise allows him to be most effective geographically south of Virginia and east of Texas. He specializes on hotel assets valued between $10 million and $25 million with a guestroom inventory between 90 and 200 units.
In 2019, Mr. Shah executed three of the top five hotel transactions in North Carolina. They included the Aloft Uptown Charlotte, the StateView Hotel, an Autograph Collection on NC State University’s campus in Raleigh, NC and the Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte SouthPark.
Prior to joining CBRE Hotels, Mr. Shah was the Asset Manager for Winston Hotels Inc., a publicly traded REIT with over 50 hotels that was sold in 2007 for a total consideration of approximately $850 million. In addition to leading the firm’s asset management division, Mr. Shah played an integral role in the firm’s acquisition and development projects, mezzanine financing program and the execution of a $100 million acquisition fund joint-ventured with a Boston-based, private equity firm. Before joining Winston Hotels, he was a Senior Consultant for PKF Consulting in Atlanta.
Mr. Shah received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Operations from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. In college, Mr. Shah was elected the President of NC State’s South Asian Student Association (EKTAA) and held internships at Choice Hotels International, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and American Express.
