Benjamin Shapiro

A 35 plus year veteran of industrial real estate in New Jersey, Ben Shapiro joined CBRE in April 2012. Throughout his career, he has completed transactions with such companies as Hercules Inc./Ashland Chemical, Carter Wallace, Marriott Corporation, Chemtura, Akzo Nobel Corporation, Lanxess, K. Hovnanian Companies, and Impact XM | Jack Morton, GE Capital and IRG | Industrial Realty Group.

Ben completed a 575,000-square-foot regional distribution facility for United Stationers Supply Company, which is the leading office supply distributor in the United States and a 417,000-square-foot long-term lease with MAP International. MAP is a leading manufacturer of computer cabinetry and IXM | Jack Morton in their leasing of 206,000 sq. ft. of industrial space in New Jersey. Ben recently represented a major pharmaceutical company in its sale of 200 acres of residential land to the K. Hovnanian Companies and another pharmaceutical company in their leasing of a 400,000 Headquarter state of the art production facility. Ben completed one of the largest investment sale transactions in New Jersey history, selling a 2.3 million square-foot industrial complex for the Curtiss-Wright Corporation in WoodRidge, New Jersey.

Ben has developed expertise in the redevelopment of environmentally contaminated property. He recently sold a 72-acre portion of a 600-acre tract of land located in Central New Jersey to a major industrial developer who recently completed a 1 MM SQ. FT. +/- industrial park. The property which is known as the Hercules site was a former black powder munitions production facility. Ashland Chemical purchased Hercules and built a chemical plant on the property. The balance of the 600 acres is now on the market for sale. Ben also represented Akzo Nobel, Carter Wallace, Chemtura, Lanxess and the owner of a former naval weapons facility on property that they owned that needed significant environmental clean up in order to sell and redevelop the property.
