Ben Weddington is a top producing capital markets professional specializing in commercial real estate financing and structuring of complex capital markets transactions. He is an Executive Vice President in CBRE's Debt & Structured Finance group and is based in the firm's Atlanta, GA, office. Throughout his career he has closed over $6 billion of commercial real estate loans and transactions for his domestic and international clients. He has been named one of CBRE's Top Producers in the Americas for eight consecutive years.
Mr. Weddington is an expert in multifamily debt and focuses on originating acquisition and recapitalization financing for middle-market multifamily assets across all lender types. Specializing in the private capital space, Mr. Weddington has over a decade of experience and leads a preeminent production team for CBRE’s multifamily financing platform that directly funds/originates Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae agency loans, and serves as correspondent for a large roster of esteemed life insurance companies, debt funds, global banking institutions, bridge lenders, pension fund advisors, and agency-alternative lenders.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Weddington was a key member of a top-performing CBRE Investment Sales group, where he managed the valuation, marketing and closing of individual assignments exceeding $2.5 billion across all commercial asset classes.
Before being recruited to CBRE, Mr. Weddington worked on acquisitions for the Ardent Companies, an Atlanta-based private equity firm. He was directly involved in the deployment of over $250 million in equity to acquire real property and performing/nonperforming debt opportunities and to originate senior debt and preferred equity positions secured by real estate.
