Professional Experience

Ben Chirgwin, Managing Director with CBRE, oversees Strategic Consulting Services for CBRE’s Northeast region. He is also part of the senior leadership trio responsible for the region’s growth and strategic direction. With over 20 years in the corporate real estate industry, he brings a broad base of knowledge across all disciplines through his work as a corporate real estate executive in the financial services sector where he specialized in the areas of thought leadership, strategic planning, portfolio optimization, customer relationship management (CRM) and M&A practices. Creating alignment between business and real estate strategy forms the core of his work with corporate occupiers.

Since joining CBRE, Ben has focused on providing clients with valued guidance in the disciplines of account leadership, operational performance, strategic planning and portfolio optimization.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ben was with Bank of America / FleetBoston Financial for over 17 years where he held the position of Senior Vice President overseeing a team of Workplace Executives who provided real estate, operating leverage, and risk mitigation expertise to the business presidents of Bank of America. Before the merger, he held numerous positions within the Corporate Real Estate organization including managing CRE operations for Fleet’s Connecticut franchise and acquired financial institutions throughout the transition period. Further, for over twelve years, he was responsible for overseeing all M&A activities, developing the strategic direction for the Global Facilities Group, and for establishing optimization programs that align the real estate operations with the strategic direction of the company and its businesses.
