Bill Cumbelich became an Executive Vice President with CBRE in San Francisco, in December 2013, following the acquisition of The CAC Group.
The CAC Group, which he co-founded in 1990 grew to become the largest independent brokerage firm in San Francisco, and one of the premier institutional boutique real estate services companies in the United States. The CAC Group completed many of the largest and most significant transactions in San Francisco from 1990-2013. CAC represented in excess of 19 million square feet of buildings in San Francisco and Seattle.
Bill has extensive experience in Landlord and Tenant Representation, Investment sales and the sale of sites for development. He has arranged many significant transactions for a wide range of long-term institutional and private clients including:
- Bank of America lease for 265,000 sf at 555 California Street and leasing of over 600,000 sf for Vornado Realty Trust
- Renewal of Levi Strauss headquarters lease at Levi’s Plaza for 350,000 sf in 2010 and 540,000 sf in 1998
- Delta Dental lease at 100 First Street--170,000 sf (2013), on behalf of Kilroy Realty Corporation and 250,000 sf pre-lease committment (1988)
- Assemblage of 100 First development site on behalf of Barker Pacific
- Pac 12 headquarters lease at Kilroy 360—110,000 sf and full lease-up approximately 400,000 sq. ft. on behalf of Kilroy Realty Corporation
- Yelp headquarters lease, now 150,000 sf at 140 New Montgomery Street and lease–up the entire project, approximately 285,000 sf, for Wilson Meany and Stockbridge
- Sale and lease up of 343 Sansome on behalf of NLI, The Joseph Foundation and Clarion Partners
- Acquisition of 535 Mission development site on behalf of Beacon Capital
- Orrick lease at Foundry Square—200,000 sq ft. on behalf Orrick
- Sale of the San Francisco Design Center, approximately 500,000 sq. ft. on behalf of Bay West Development to RREEF
- Lease-up of Market Center, on behalf of Manulife/John Hancock, almost 1.4 million square feet since 2004
Bill started his brokerage career in San Francisco with Coldwell Banker & Co. in San Francisco in 1977, where he worked as one of the firm’s top producing brokers until 1989.
Bill is a Bay Area native and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana with a degree in finance. He is married and a father of four, a youth baseball coach and Sunday school teacher.
