Brad Rutherford has more than 24 years of experience in the Real Estate Services and Manufacturing Maintenance industries. Throughout his career, Mr. Rutherford has held positions in Account Leadership, Strategic Platform Leadership, Business Development, Facility Management, Maintenance Management, Quality Assurance and Project Engineering.
Mr. Rutherford currently serves as the Global Alliance Director for CBRE’s relationship with Ford Land, a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company. In this role, Mr. Rutherford leads more than 200 account-dedicated CBRE employees to provide a full suite of real estate services, supporting a portfolio that includes more than 40 million square feet of World Headquarters campuses, Corporate Offices, Research and Engineering Centers, and Distribution Centers.
Mr. Rutherford’s duties include full responsibility for the fiscal and operational performance of the services provided to Ford; including Facility Management, Commercial Property Management, Project Management, Advisory Services, Lease Administration and Transaction Management. Additionally, he oversees the deployment of CBRE’s Governance and Operational Excellence programs to measure service delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Central to Mr. Rutherford’s role is building positive, open and collaborative relationships with the individual Ford Land executives. Serving as a trusted advisor allows Mr. Rutherford to understand his clients’ evolving business needs, coordinate resources to deliver desired outcomes and build strategic operational plans for future needs.
Prior to his role as Global Alliance Director for the Ford Account, Mr. Rutherford served as the Enterprise Facility Management Director for CBRE’s GWS North Division; supporting a portfolio of approximately 30 account teams and more than 300 million square feet of facilities. His duties including the creation of facility management solutions in response to business development opportunities; guiding transition activity and service model implementation for new accounts; and ensuring the successful execution of operational standards across the entire portfolio of client accounts.In his efforts to accomplish these initiatives, Mr. Rutherford coordinated and lead the contribution of various Enterprise Facility Management (EFM)Platform elements into a cogent and successful service delivery solution for each client engagement.
Mr. Rutherford has also held leadership roles on the Dow Chemical account for CBRE. After joining the team as the Facility Management Director in 2012, Mr. Rutherford was promoted to Global Alliance Director in 2014. He led a team of more than 100 CBRE employees providing services to Dow Chemical globally, with a portfolio consisting of more than 12 million square feet of Global World Headquarters, Corporate Office, Research & Development Labs, and Chemical Manufacturing facilities.
Mr. Rutherford has previously held various Engineering, Maintenance and FacilityManagement leadership positions at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), General Motors and Berry Plastics. During his time with JLL, Mr. Rutherford served as Senior Vice President and Client Relationship Manager (CRM). He was responsible for leading several account teams and supporting client real estate portfolios across the US. Mr. Rutherford also led, or participated in, many significant business development initiatives. While working at JLL, Mr. Rutherford’s clients included General Motors, International Paper, Cardinal Health and American Axle.
During his time with General Motors, Mr. Rutherford held leadership roles in Process / Lean Engineering, Facilities Management and Quality Assurance. As a Regional Facilities Manager, Mr. Rutherford managed FM Services at various GM Service and Parts Operations distribution centers throughout the United States. The facilities management team under Mr. Rutherford’s direction included a mix of UAW Skilled Trades, GM Maintenance Supervisors, and third party FM providers.
At Berry Plastics, Mr. Rutherford was responsible for all Process and Project Engineering at the company’s Charlotte based injection molding/offset printing plant. In this role, Mr. Rutherford managed the purchase, installation and maintenance of Injection Molding Machines, process support equipment and facility support equipment. Mr. Rutherford also managed the construction of a 100,000 square foot warehouse and the implementation of the ISO 9002 Quality Management System.
