Brett Bridgeland joined CBRE in August 2024 as Senior Director of Sustainability Advisory for CBRE. He oversees energy and decarbonization audits, carbon road-mapping and other sustainability services. Brett has 16 years of multi-disciplinary experience across architecture, energy engineering and energy efficiency programs. He has designed, managed or consulted on projects at all scales, from individual buildings and districts to large public and private portfolios to national clean energy roadmaps.
Prior to CBRE, Brett was a Principal at Rocky Mountain Institute, where he led work with large buildings and portfolios, for clients such as CBRE, NYSERDA, DoD, GSA, Lodha Group and others. He was integral to NYSERDA's Empire Building Challenge and Empire Technology Prize to advance decarbonization of large buildings and to the Lodha Net Zero Urban Accelerator to advance decarbonization solutions for India’s built environment. Brett also previously worked at Slipstream in Chicago, where he designed, launched, managed and conducted energy engineering analysis for energy efficiency programs for commercial, industrial, public sector and residential new construction. He started his career as a design architect with Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture in Chicago, designing award-winning, high-performance buildings and districts across the U.S., China, Middle East and India.
Brett is an industry thought leader and frequent speaker on strategic building decarbonization, particularly about integrating innovative engineering approaches into asset management and capital planning.
