Brunson Howard serves as the Market Leader and Senior Managing Director for San Diego. Howard oversees the market's business operations and drives their growth strategies for all San Diego Advisory Service lines, including leasing, sales, debt and structured finance, valuation, and property management.
Howard has 18 years of experience in commercial real estate. He previously served as the Executive Managing Director at Newmark, where he focused on expanding the company's footprint in San Diego and executing high-profile investment sales for a broad spectrum of property types, including land for future development, life science, industrial, office and research and development.
Howard joined Newmark in 2016 from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was the Executive Managing Director for the San Diego offices and the co-leader of the firm's San Diego capital markets group.
Before his career in real estate, Howard served as a commissioned officer and aviator with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he flew various aircraft, including AH-1W Cobra attack helicopters and F/A-18D strike fighters.
An integral partner in the real estate community, he is an active member of the NAIOP San Diego chapter and its foundation board and a member of the Urban Land Institute. Additionally, he has mentored undergraduate students at the University of San Diego's Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate.
Howard holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Texas State University. He is a 2010 graduate of LEAD Impact San Diego, an organization dedicated to identifying and developing San Diego's future leaders.
