Professional Experience

Chip Burnett serves as the Sector Director responsible for overseeing Commercial Services within CBRE’s Government & Defense Sector. In this role, he leads the strategic direction and operational performance of integrated facilities management solutions for high-trust commercial and public sector clients. With over 20 years of industry experience, Chip brings a strong background in tactical delivery, analytics, and operational leadership across diverse asset types and geographies.

Chip joined CBRE with a career that spans front-line facilities operations to executive-level leadership. He began his career as a construction laborer in the Atlanta market and progressed through roles including Facility Manager, Project Manager, and operations leader supporting Fortune 100 clients. His responsibilities have included engineering, facility management, capital planning, budgeting, sourcing, finance, and performance analytics across portfolios of more than 2,200 facilities.

In a prior leadership role, Chip led CBRE’s FM Analytics platform globally, advancing a data-driven approach to continuous improvement and solution design. His expertise in combining operational insight with analytics and technology has enabled his teams to deliver measurable value and sustainable performance improvements for both public and private sector organizations.

Chip holds an MBA in International Business from John Brown University, a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate from Georgia Southern University’s Parker College of Business, and has completed executive education at Emory University. He is also a Certified Reliability Leader through the Reliability Leadership Institute.
