Associated Office
Chris Poppell is Managing Director and Investor Services Leader for CBRE’s MidAtlantic region, responsible for driving the growth and development of the firm’s Investor Services business across the region. In this role, he focuses on scaling CBRE’s Investor Services platform and expanding the firm’s capabilities for investor clients.
Chris brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience spanning investment, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions and strategic real estate initiatives. Prior to joining CBRE in 2026, he served as Director of Investment Real Estate at George Washington University, where he oversaw a $1.2 billion real estate portfolio and led acquisitions, dispositions, asset management and strategic real estate initiatives.
Previously, Chris spent more than a decade with Piedmont Office Realty Trust, where he held roles overseeing major office portfolios in Washington, D.C., and other key U.S. markets. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Market Leader, overseeing Piedmont’s Florida and Midtown Atlanta portfolios, comprising nine existing buildings totaling 3.2 million square feet, as well as a 19-acre mixeduse development site.
