Cliff Carlson, MAI, serves as Director for the Valuation & Advisory Services group with management oversight for our Twin Cities office in Minneapolis, primarily covering the states of Minnesota, North Dakota and portions of South Dakota. Mr. Carlson will be responsible for day-to-day management, recruitment, professional development and strategic decision-making for our local VAS business, which includes several professionals across the greater Minneapolis area.
Mr. Carlson joined CBRE in 2025. Prior to this appointment, he provided appraisal and consulting services at SitusAMC (fka RERC) from 2005 through 2025, and most recently held the title of Senior Vice President. Primary job duties included managing a small team, commercial appraisal and appraisal review. He along with a team successfully envisioned and launched a daily valuation service package for a private NAV REIT and began the execution for the client in 2012. This relationship continued through multiple contract extensions. Mr. Carlson had oversight of the fund’s property valuations as it grew and stood at around 100 properties (approx. $7B Gross Asset Value) upon his eventual departure. His team provided the client with expert, reliable day-to-day valuation services, and he reported quarterly activity to the REIT’s board of directors.
Mr. Carlson has in-depth knowledge of Microsoft software as well as Argus Enterprise DCF software. He has specialized in valuation assignments across a variety of commercial property types, with an emphasis on institutional quality office, retail, industrial and multifamily asset classes in various states throughout the US.
