Colton has worked on more than 110 sale and lease transactions totaling more than $425 million, plus more than 30 advisory assignments. Clients include public agencies, schools, health systems and nonprofits, along with many private businesses and individual owners. He works from the conviction that for a vacant or owner-occupied building, the strongest buyer is often another user, not an investor. He uses CBRE's research and buyer network to find that buyer and manages each deal through closing.
Colton began his CBRE career with the Public Institutions and Education Solutions group, advising public agencies on land strategy, ground leases and development. He then underwrote acquisitions and dispositions for a CBRE practice serving private equity investors. He brings both views to every deal: how owners make decisions and how institutional capital prices real estate.
Earlier in his career, Colton worked in hospitality and residential development, including Marriott- and Hilton-branded hotels.
